Happy Sunday All,
Of course your science teachers are always thinking of you; so we had a Question and Answer Session about our next topic. We are going into soil; and as Mrs. Sprinkle is gardening with her boys, Fox and Lex; being the curious scientists we are, had a few questions for Mrs. Sprinkle. Click on the button below and see for yourself! Can't wait to see you all tomorrow at 10am! Brian Stokes you make sure get out of bed; we are still in school!!!!!!!!! Graham I can't wait to see you:-) Kenni G. and Jennifer Avila I want to see you join our class session, and of course I'm looking forward to seeing each and everyone of you all! We will play a quick review game of Erosion and the agents of erosion. Hope to see you there!
Of course, we(all your teachers and admin) are missing each and everyone of y'all! We wanted to create a video to not only show you how much you're missed; but give you all some encouragement to finish the year strong!!!!! We hope you enjoy the video below.
Hi All!
So on in class on Wednesday, I noticed that many of you were getting confused with chemical weathering and erosion. I have posted a few videos below that can help you with seeing the differences in these processes. Hopefully this helps!!!!! Of course, you can email me and/or sign up for teacher time to receive one-on-one help.
OMG I am loving the pictures you all are sending me; see how science is all around us!!!!! I have to give a shout out to my students that's been rocking it with our distance learning! Gabrielle Rice a.k.a Gabby, Jakelin Sierra, Graham Goodman, Jack Stuart, and Nina Craig! You all have been on it since we started week 1 in March; you all haven't missed a beat and I am soooooo proud of you all; so a HUGE kudos to you AND your parents!!!!!! As our final review before we go into erosion and deposition, we will be playing kahoot in class tomorrow; so bring your weathering A game!!! For Part 2 of your assignment, you are to view and take notes of the nearpod of Erosion- water and ice and Erosion- wind and gravity. These are the agents of erosion. After you have watched the videos and reviewed the nearpod, you are to complete a forms quiz and a quizziz. Both quizzes are due SUNDAY at 11:00pm. Part 2 and 3 assignment can be seen below. For your assignments, such as the quizziz, if you do NOT put your first name AND last name you will not receive credit!!!!
Part 2 Assignment- Erosion Nearpods
Nearpod code- SOQTN
Nearpod code: PGZXF
Part 3 Assignment- 2 Quizzes
Quizziz Code: 1202854
I always get excited when I start off the week with your smiling faces!!!!! You guys were on it with "name that weathering" during our class session! Part 1 of your assignment can be seen below; as well as the Weathering and Erosion Slideshow we reviewed today! The file was too large; so it is in pdf format to download; and I also put the video from the slideshow below. Also, I will updating grades this week so you all can see your progress in studentvue. Next class, we will be playing kahoot; so bring your A game!
Part 1 assignment "Science Photographers": You are to take 2-3 pictures of examples of mechanical and chemical weathering AND explain how it is either mechanical or chemical weathering. For example, if you take a picture of roots in the sidewalk- it would be mechanical weathering due to plants/root-wedging. You can either post the pictures in a powerpoint; similar to how your science teachers did, or you can place the pictures in a word document with your explanation. After you have completed your "outside exploration adventure" you can share your assignment with me in onedrive or email me @[email protected].
I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend. Going into our Week 5, lets get started with a song and dance to help you remember the concepts we're learning. As of now, you all should be familiar with mechanical and chemical weathering; you all will get to show what you know tomorrow during our class session at 10am with an activity. Hope to see you all there!!! In the mean time, please feel free to watch the video I created for you all; hopefully you all enjoy it.
Hi Scientists!
WE WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE OUR CLASS SESSIONS ON MONDAYS AT 10am AND WEDNESDAYS AT 1pm; so disregard the comment regarding Tuesdays; I don't want to make any changes to our schedule. I enjoyed our classroom session today! Although, we had "technical difficulties", I always enjoy seeing your faces. It brightens my day and keeps me encouraged!!!! So for the students who attended the session(I wrote down the names of the students) don't forget the brainpop quiz competition! Go to www.brainpop.com, use the username and password I gave you all during our session, and type "weathering" in the search box. Once you finish the video, click Quiz and complete graded quiz and email me the results at [email protected]. The winner with the most points will receive a prize:-). As always, if you have any questions and/or concerns, please email me. Love you and miss you!!!!
My lovely scientists!!!!!
After watching the video from the best science teachers ever and completing the skittles activity, I am curious(that's why I'm a science teacher) what you all observed. We will be discussing all this information; as well as playing white boards wars with a twist tomorrow in our class session at 1pm; hope to see you there!!! Below, you will find the nearpod of mechanical and chemical weathering; our next topic. You are to watch both nearpods; videos included, BEFORE you take your quiz. You will have a quizizz that will be due SUNDAY 4/19 @ 11:00pm.
