I hate that I am not getting to hug you and tell you how much you have grown this year as a student, but I am truly looking forward to seeing how much you have grown and changed come August. I will still answer emails over the summer, so feel free to email me!! 1. Your only assignment this week is to test your year-long knowledge using my 100 question Quizizz challenge game!!!! 2. Watch Mrs. Seibert's last video of the year below. I hope you have a great summer class of 2026! Thank you for an excellent school year. I want to encourage you to stay connected to your teachers and learning.
When COVID19 hit our area, Ms. Robinson and a group of teachers started the Empty Bowls Project to make an impact by supporting families in need. If you would like to help over the summer, we would encourage you to participate! Here is our wish list:
We are working to ensure every student has opportunities to stay active and healthy this summer.
Part 1:
Read this Interactive Article on the last of the 3 rock types, the Sedimentary Rock.
Part 2:
Watch both videos, one about sedimentary rocks and the other a fun song about all 3 rock types and how they form.
Part 3:
Complete the below Form/Quiz on the Rock Cycle. The questions are mostly about metamorphic and sedimentary rocks, the readings from this week. We did it! You, me, and everyone else has made it to the last full week of academics of sixth grade. Your first year at Griffin is almost over, and I can guarantee that next year will not be the same as this year: different teachers, different classrooms, different connections, different friends. I will be on the 6th grade enrichment hallway and am looking forward to seeing you again! If you are missing any assignments, please email me and I can send you the link of what you can complete to get a grade for that topic. [email protected] This week we will finish out the Rock Cycle and the last two types of rocks, Metamorphic and Sedimentary. As a Mother's day gift to myself and you :) there is not a cheesy science video starring me. Part 1: Read this Interactive lesson on Metamorphic Rock. Part 2: Watch the Geology Kitchen video on Metamorphic Rocks. Pay attention to Regional Metamorphism and Contact Metamorphism to understand the two ways metamorphic rocks are formed. Part 3: Read through this Starburst Lab Activity, then watch someone completing the lab. After you have watched the video, go back and answer the questions in the lab on your own piece of paper. And if you have 3-4 starbursts at home give it a try!

Scientists, we have been learning about soil this week and all it’s interesting characteristics. In order to show all your wonderful knowledge of soil you are given two choices below; you can either complete Choice A OR Choice B. The project needs to be shown in flipgrid or emailed to me. [email protected]. Below the project description are Graphic Organizer Documents to help you organize the information needed for Choice A and for Choice B. The final product is what needs to be turned in, not the graphic organizer.
Either post your final project to FlipGrid (password GriffinGrove) or email it to me directly.
Miss you and am looking forward to your ideas and creativity!
