Good Morning All, I was intending to have our final farewell class session today; however, I have a meeting at 1pm today. You all know how I feel about meetings; I would rather be with you guys 10,000 times more, but I can't get out of this meeting(trust me I tried!) Please keep the letters coming!!!! Thank you Trin, Jakelin, and Graham for the wonderful advice to the upcoming 6th graders. Also, we have a final activity that you all can do for fun over the summer! It's an end of the year Earth Science Scavenger Hunt. You will go on an adventure and take pictures of the concepts we've learned throughout the year and post them in a powerpoint. The powerpoint that you will use is posted below and you can share it with me via onedrive or email it to me. You all have been an AMAZING class and have taught me so much about myself; and getting to know each and everyone of you has been the BEST part of the job! I wouldn't trade ANY of you for anything in the world! I want you all to remember that you are PRICELESS; and are wonderfully made!!!!!!!!

My apologies for all the tears this morning guys; you all just brighten my day and keep me going! I thank each and every one of you for being who you are. Just because you all are going to 7th grade, does NOT mean I'm no longer your teacher. I will ALWAYS be your teacher:-) For those of you that missed the meeting, I asked for a huge favor. I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE for you all to write a letter to my rising 6th graders and email or share your letters with me on onedrive. Think back to when you first started middle school; how nervous, scared, stressed out, excited, etc. you were and I would love for you to pass on some advice to my new kiddos helping them transition with more ease. Giving the new 6th graders the "Do's and Don'ts of middle school. I will actually read your letters to them!!!! All I ask is for you to be completely honest; whether good or bad. The advice can be any of the following:
- what middle school is like -being involved in extracurricular activities -developing friendships - ANY of your teachers - Classes/academics -Grades -balancing life -the COVID-19 experience as a 6th grader -or any piece of advice you would like to share regarding your experience and how you survived the 6th grade!
Good Evening All!!!
I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing weekend. As hard as it is for me to say this, the year is coming to an end. This has been a very interesting year; to say the least, but we got through it. Tomorrow, we will have our regularly scheduled class @ 10am; it won't be long, but I do have a HUGE favor to ask you guys. We can also say our "see you laters" I refuse to say good-bye! The password has been changed to our zoom session; the new password is on the right. Hope to see you all tomorrow! Also, we have a message from our lovely Mrs. Seibert. The message can be seen below.
I hope you have a great summer class of 2026! Thank you for an excellent school year. I want to encourage you to stay connected to your teachers and learning. When COVID19 hit our area, Ms. Robinson and a group of teachers started the Empty Bowls Project to make an impact by supporting families in need. If you would like to help over the summer, we would encourage you to participate!
Here is our wish list:

First and foremost, I have to say happy mother's day to ALL the beautiful women out there!!! Each and every one of you have and continue to impact our lives everyday! I hope that every mother has enjoyed their day because you all deserve it and so much more!!!!! From the bottom of my heart, a HUGE thank you! So lets start off the week with a hands on activity. Just a recap, we've discussed the Rock Cycle and Igneous Rock. Now going into week 8; guys this is our last full week:-(, we will be discussing our last two rocks, Sedimentary and Metamorphic Rock. For tomorrow, you all will play a review game over the rock cycle and Igneous Rock and discuss the activity for part 1 of your assignment this week. Week 8 Part 1 Building your own rock sandwich
Hi guys!!!! So thanks to our classmate, Hannah Banana, I've decided to post the Rock Cycle Lab below. You do NOT have to complete the questions; however, I know that many of you are hands on learners. Feel free to do the activity your teachers did in the video to help you figure out which teacher represented which process/rock. Make sure you ask your parents first and foremost BEFORE you do it! I hope this helps:-) See you all on Monday! PS- Happy Mother's day to ALL the beautiful women; whether you are a biological mother or you have been a mother in some capacity. Remember you all are loved, appreciated, and needed!!!!!
I had so much fun with you guys in class this afternoon! PLEASE make sure you read the Rock Cycle article; as well as the Igneous Rock article that's below. Next week, we will be playing another review game. Your final assignments for this week can be seen below. You will have an Igneous Rock video and a reading of the Igneous Rock Article as part 2 of your assignment. Part 3 of your assignment will be a Rock Cycle and Igneous Rock Quiz. Happy Monday Scientists!
I want to apologize because I usually post our(your science teachers) videos on Sunday...welcoming you all to a new week. Guess what guys?? I got a chance to go to our classroom today; which was really exciting because I miss it; but of course the classroom is NOT the same without you all! So lets start the week of right:-) Below, you will find the video that we made for you all; we were bored and wanted to play with crayons. So to make it interesting, we need YOUR help! Can you explain using "science" words; since we are scientists, what your science teachers were doing/demonstrating in the video(hint: it is what we're learning for the next two weeks). After we have learned the concepts, be the FIRST to email me with what each teacher correctly represented based on what we've learned and receive a special surprise. In order to correctly "label" what each teacher represented in the video you must watch the videos and complete the readings. So lets do this and get into our week!!!!!! Part 1 of your assignment can be seen after you've watched the video. *Part 1- After watching the study jams video below and reading about the rock cycle(you do not have to answer the questions), you have a brain pop quiz assigned through your mackinvia account. Use the steps from week 6(last week) to access the brain pop quiz. The quiz will be due NEXT Monday 5/11
Happy Wednesday Everyone,
As always, I enjoy seeing your faces during our zoom sessions! I want to give a shout out to our winners of the last few games we've played in class! Kudos to Ms. Jakelin Sierra Rubio and Herb Negron for being our white board wars winners, Graham Goodman and Trinity Dodd for being our Kahoot winners, and Jack Stuart for being our Quizlet winner; you all make sure you come see me when school starts back for your prizes. So the last part of our assignment involves 2 activities; a brain pop quiz and your soil project. PLEASE follow directions below to access these assignments and how to turn them in.
Once you have went to the link https://cobb.mackinvia.com using your device and logged in using your firstname.lastname and school computer password. You should see the image above. Click "open" for brain pop( 6 scrolls down).

My Scientists!!!!
By now, you all should have watched the Q&A session with Mrs. Sprinkle and the Soil video; cool right? Before I seen the video, I never knew how important soil was and how vital it is to our daily lives. You should know the three types of soil, what soil is made of, how many layers soil has, and the difference between soil and dirt. For Part 2 of your assignment, you will use your textbook and/or the online text book to read pgs. 428-435( I ABSOLUTELY love the pictures!) and read the article Soil Conservation. Both assignments will HELP you with your quiz that is due on Sunday by 11:00pm. Also, you all will have a fun project dealing with soil; so make sure you read!!!! Your assignments can be seen below. See you all in class tomorrow at 1pm. We will be reviewing the Soil video assignment, playing an interactive game, and discussing your upcoming project!
