Below are the two parts to the study guide for our test Friday.
Yesterday the students received a permission form to watch the movie "San Andreas" (PG-13) when we arrive back from Spring Break. The students will be analyzing the events of the movie and comparing them to the scientific principles of Earthquakes and Tectonic Plates to determine what is fiction or non-fiction. Students must have this form signed by an adult and brought back no later than Friday, March 29. There are extra copies of the permission form in my room if they need another. |

As a science team, we would like to watch "San Andreas" in class on April 8th and 9th. We will be critically looking at the difference between science and science fiction. The film is rated PG13 and can be further researched at www.filmrating.com. Please review the attached document and sign giving your student permission to view the movie. If we do NOT receive a permission form for your student, they will NOT be allowed to watch the movie will be given an alternate assignment. Please have all forms returned by Wednesday March 27th.

Good afternoon! Many of our students have still not turned in their Water Cycle CER activity. Those who have turned it in have been given theirs back and have the opportunity to revise the assignment for a higher grade, up to a 100. I have attached the CER and a resource for the students to use. Please check ParentVUE to see if your student is missing the CER. All missing work is due by Friday the 15th. Students who are not passing my class received a progress report from me this week to have signed by an adult and returned to me. Today was the deadline, but I'm happy to take them on Monday. Today was our Hydrology Unit Test. If your student scored an 80 or below, they may come in in the mornings next week, Tuesday-Friday between 8:15-8:50 to retake the test. Please encourage them to study before they attempt again. Last but not least, we are in great need of tissues and Clorox/Lysol wipes. We would greatly appreciate any donations to our classroom! Thank you so much and enjoy the weekend! Ms. Boyd
