Today we had a fun time experiencing the transfer of heat. We popped popcorn and evaluated the different ways the heat is transferred to create our treat. I think the kids enjoyed it and hopefully they learned something too.
This week we will be on block schedule and only seeing our classes 3 times this week. The classes are extra long but it is hard to adjust to. What will be due: Unit 4 - Lesson 2 (heat transfer) page 271: Wednesday (1st & 5th) Thursday (2nd & 6th) Vocab Quiz (atmosphere and heat transfer)- Friday (all classes) Unequal Heating lab/demo Friday Most classes got the opportunity to begin brainstorming about their Iron Man project. I am amazed at their artistic abilities. Test corrections: I also handed out test corrections for the last multiple choice test. They will be due on Tuesday. The constructed response revisions will go out as soon as I get the students who were absent turned in. We had a great time learning about sprites. Below is a great video! Students are to complete the Graphic Organizer for the layers of the atmosphere and complete the Lesson Review on page 257 for homework. Please have your students use the attached file for additional information on atmospheric layers.
This week we are starting a new unit on atmospheric layers. We opened today with a clip from Iron Man and discussed why his suit froze during test flight. Throughout the week we will be learning more about the atmospheric layers and associating it with Iron Man. They will create systems to protect Tony as he travels through the atmosphere. I'm excited to see what the kids come up with.
Here's what is coming up. I have asked all students to write this down in their agenda. •Monday: Read pages 250 – 256 •Wednesday: Finish Reading, • Begin Lesson Review page 257 •Thursday: •GO Complete •Turn in Lesson Review •Start project (Work in class Thursday – Friday, due Tuesday) •Friday: Vocabulary due Tomorrow, November 2nd, we will be testing over Unit 2. Please find the completed study guide attached.
