We are finishing up the sun-earth-moon unit this week. We will be testing on Thursday for periods 1 and 2 and Friday for periods 3-5. Please use the notes and self graded / corrected lesson reviews as study material. Also, watch the videos!!!! These are priceless for reviewing information. We will be completing stations for the rest of the week in preparation for the test. Science fair is due DECEMBER 5TH AND 6TH Students are working on their Lab Reports in ELA this week. Below I have attached a 'sample report' of the mock project we did in class. If you have any questions be review this document. We are wrapping up the moon phases, eclipses, and seasons. Students will be working on stations as a review for the test. We will be testing Thursday and Friday before break. Also, SCIENCE FAIR IS ALMOST DUE!!! Projects will be judged in class December 5th and 6th. The winning projects will move on to the Griffin Middle School Science Fair December 10th - 12th. Winners of this fair will move on to the Cobb County Science Fair February 8th at Smitha Middle School. Below is a link to give a little more clarity. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/edu/learn/activities/science-fair-project/
The students have been working really hard to learn moon phases and eclipses. They will be taking a practical test tomorrow. I'm sure they have never taken a test this way. It is part lab and part....food. Thank you for all who donated cookies to the classroom. The students are going to love it! (As much as you can love a test). Below are some videos to watch and refresh. The main topics will be moon phases, eclipses, and the days it takes for moon phases to change (3.5 between minor changes and 7 days between the main 4 moon phase changes). |
